How the DrOwl Screening and Monitoring App Works
DrOwl’s free screening tool can be conveniently used by any person with a mobile device. Upon entering a building, the user will be asked a series of questions to determine if they have any COVID-19 symptoms or any history of COVID-19 exposure. The app comes equipped with a general set of questions, but you can also customize the questions and responses that visitors receive.
The information input into the app is saved so it can be accessed later if needed. Upon learning that a visitor to your school or business has tested positive, you can easily access the information stored within the app and reach out to those who’ve been exposed. This allows them to contact their medical providers if they’re having symptoms or take the proper quarantine measures if they’re asymptomatic.
Why Electronic Screening Is Preferred
Without innovative electronic screening, you may need to rely on paper screening procedures. Paper screening, which involves taking down each person’s name and asking questions about symptoms and exposure, is highly inefficient. There’s a great risk of human error, especially in busy environments or places that receive many guests or visitors during the day. Monitoring is also more difficult with this method, and there’s an additional risk that documents will be lost or misplaced before notifications can be sent out. If your school or business is audited or asked for a list of visitors and their screening information, the report is only a couple of clicks away. With the paper medthof of COVID-19 screening, it could take many hours to answer to any audit or request for information.
With the DrOwl app, information is conveniently stored and easy to access when necessary. As soon as you’re notified of a positive test result, you can reach out to all those affected immediately. Time is of the essence when it comes to preventing the transmission of COVID-19. Even a delay of a few hours may result in many others becoming ill if the person exposed is unaware.
